چکیده
ABSTRACT: Acinetobacter spp. is emerging as an important human and veterinary pathogen, mostly due to intrinsic acquired resistance antimicrobials. Despite its public health relevance, little known about the prevalence, role of different species antimicrobial profile animal-origin isolates. Traditional phenotypic tests may fail discriminate species, therefore molecular analyses are often required a complementary approach. The objectives this study were evaluate occurrence strains calcoaceticus-Acinetobacter baumannii (Acb) complex isolated from animal infections including urinary tract infections, otitis, piodermitis pododermatitis, against classes, carbapenems. All Gram-negative coccobacilli isolates characterized by MALDI-TOF multiplex PCR, disk diffusion test was used investigate multi-drug (MDR) carbapenem genes PCR preconized standard guidelines. technique identified 21 belonging Acb (10 A. pittii, 8 baumannii, 3 nosocomialis, 1 ursingii, venetianus). Multiplex confirmed results for 20 strains. Eight (34.78%) classified MDR, being 50% (4/8) 37.5% (3/8) 12.5% (1/8) nosocomialis. None presented carbapenemase production. Considering genes, 26.09% (6/23) one or more genes. From these, (3/6) only bla VIM, 33.33% (2/6) blaIMP, 16.67% (1/6) blaIMP e blaVIM, simultaneously. These detected among pittii (66.67%, 4/6). This provides further insights into origin.

Defining resistance in Acinetobacter calcoaceticus-Acinetobacter baumannii complex strains.
We read with great interest the recent publication of Tien and colleagues in which they describe the antimicrobial susceptibilities of a large number of Acinetobacter baumannii-Acinetobacter calcoaceticus strains isolated from a medical center in Taiwan (1). They suggested that antimicrobial susceptibility was negatively associated with virulent potential because more-susceptible strains were r...

This study investigated the clinical and microbiological characteristics of patients with recurrent bacteremia caused by the Acinetobacter calcoaceticus-Acinetobacter baumannii (ACB) complex at a medical center. All ACB complex isolates associated with recurrent bacteremia were identified to the genomic species level using a 16S-23S rRNA gene intergenic spacer sequence-based method. Genotypes w...

This study was conducted to compare the prevalences of antimicrobial resistance profiles of clinical isolates in the Acinetobacter calcoaceticus-Acinetobacter baumannii complex from sterile and nonsterile sites and to further study the relationship of antimicrobial resistance profiles and genospecies by amplified rRNA gene restriction analysis (ARDRA). A total of 1,381 isolates were tested with...
متن کاملAntimicrobial Resistance Determinants in Imipenem-nonsusceptible Acinetobacter calcoaceticus-baumannii Complex Isolated in Daejeon, Korea
BACKGROUND Members of the Acinetobacter calcoaceticus-baumannii (Acb) complex are important opportunistic bacterial pathogens and present significant therapeutic challenges in the treatment of nosocomial infections. In the present study, we investigated the integrons and various genes involved in resistance to carbapenems, aminoglycosides, and fluoroquinolones in 56 imipenem-nonsusceptible Acb ...

The frequency of the carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter calcoaceticus-Acinetobacter baumannii (CRACB) complex increases annually in our hospitals. However, the types and prevalence of carbapenemases among isolates still remain unclear. In this study, we identified and collected 672 carbapenem-resistant isolates from a medical center in Northern Taiwan between April and December of 2010. There w...
